First Solo Exhibition - "Faces of Places"

I'm very pleased to add this to this year's achievements.  This entire month of July, I'm holding my very first solo art exhibition. I'm showcasing 25 new watercolor artworks and 9 previously exhibited ones of facades in Dumaguete and nearby. The location is at Arté Café and Gallery along Rizal Boulevard, Dumaguete City.

I'm extremely thankful to the team at Arté Gallery for their efforts in the preparation. Special thanks to gallery owner Skye Benito and partner Ramsid Labe.  Opening day was July 1. It was a lot of firsts, and it was definitely a new experience since I'm really an introverted person so I am more comfortable in the comfort of my home. I was so touched to see people who came, friends in the art community, in work, friends in life, and most importantly my family. I am nothing but thankful.  And indeed also a proud moment for me for creating all these artworks and making this happen.

Here are some highlights from the opening day.  These photos were shot by my good friend Ralph Ruiz of Creative Stills.

Making Memories

My friends and I decided to push through with a long-overdue trip to Siaton. I wanted to go somewhere nice for my birthday this year. We went to Siit Cliff. It's just very near Kookoo's Nest and that area is known for gorgeous sunsets so that was what we aimed to see by the end of the day.

It didn't disappoint. The sunset sa spectacular, but oh so fleeting! Taking a million photos was inevitable but I made sure to pause a few minutes just to admire the view with my own eyes, and be grateful for another year and the blessing to still exist and witness the beauty of God's creation.
