jeff and sandy visited dumaguete

Jeff and Sandy are photographers from Cebu and they're also a couple. They visited Dumaguete over the long weekend to experience Silliman University's Founder's Day celebration. My friend Roselle and I toured them around campus and we strolled along the Rizal Boulevard, took pictures and ate the famous Silvanas at Sans Rival. As we were walking along the streets, i can't help but notice they're just naturally sweet to each other.

digital light leaks

Light leaks are always nice to look at, in my opinion. It's one reason i'm so in love with film. Even mistakes can be beautiful if done creatively. It's usually caused by a camera defect or sometimes  by accidentally opening the back cover of a camera.

Here are some shots i took using my Nikon D60. We met up at Poppy's Coffee recently and it was amusing to see we had camera representations from different brands. Canon, Olympus, Nikon (mine). These are digital but i added some fake light leaks using Photoshop. Though the effects look somewhat similar to the actual ones, nothing can really beat those.

Floppy

my friend belle liked the idea so she asked to have a pic.. it's not done yet, though.

Shooting Film

I've been wanting to try taking pictures using an SLR camera for a long time and i'm thankful i recently got hold of one — i bought it online. It's a Pentax P30, one from the 1980's. These are photos from my first roll of film, an expired Kodak Gold 100. Here it was before i had it developed. I wanted to have a souvenir of my first film ever shot using a vintage camera. (used my Nikon D60, Nikkor 35mm lens).

I got it as a freebie from the seller and I only realized later that it's expired when the pictures came out seeing that some were foggy, poor contrast and had quite much noise. But i also had lucky shots. I did take notes for some of the indoor shots but for those with acceptable exposure setting, i can no longer remember. This camera had a working light meter and i'm still learning how to use it.

Next time, i'm using an unexpired roll so i could see the difference in the shots using this camera. Most if not all of these shots are quite bad actually but i share them to you, anyway.
