Pinspired - Launching Mythic Creatures Postcards and Exhibit

Last February, Pinspired Philippines launched a new set of postcards featuring our beloved Filipino mythical creatures by artist Alex Jusay. It's a theme that's close to most Filipinos because these mythical creatures were a common part of our childhood. We heard stories of white ladies sighted in old school buildings, a tikbalang in the forest, a kapre sitting in a big tree, a beautiful diwata living in an enchanted forest, duwendes living under the rocks. These creatures were usually part of scary stories and most of the time, were told to children who like to disobey parents, those who love to wander away in unknown places.

It was held at The Flying Fish and a number of people went to check out the merchandise and prints or simply just talk about mythical creatures! There were two lovely ladies who dressed up as the diwata and the white lady, which were pretty cool! Some sweets served in the form of apples and cupcakes, with a twist! While the guests enjoyed these, Alex got to sign prints, meet guests and also sat on the spot to create another creature and showed us his process.

These artworks are now available as prints and postcards, given new life by artist Alex Jusay. They are done in amazing digital art, open for viewing until Mar 23rd at the Flying Fish Hostel.

The postcards are available and sold by Pinspired Philippines, along with many other souvenir items featuring our beautiful country.

Personalized Wooden Coasters

Another new project this month is calligraphy work done in white ink on round wooden coasters. These are some really nice types of bamboo coasters that I found online. It measures 4 inches diameter and is the perfect size for standard ceramic mugs.

This set is given as gifts to a wedding party, for groomsmen, bridesmaids and family.

Ana and Brian Tie the Knot

Last Christmas, I made a quick visit to Bacolod City to attend my cousin Ana's wedding. It was a small simple celebration attended by close friends and family. It was a beautiful day and it was perfect to have a quick portrait shoot of the newlyweds Congrats, Ana and Brian!
