Siit for Ourselves

The plan to go to Siit in the municipality of Siaton was one of those that we never really planned but decided to push through since all four of us Jean, Kai and GB were on vacay mood when the year started. We're very thankful for GB's hubby, Ian, who was with us to drive a vehicle to Siit Barangay road, the path going to Antulang. Travel time was about an hour. We parked the car under a young mango tree and started our mini-hike to Turtle Island.

The path we chose was one of two ways you can get to the island. Another way was from a jump of point and you have to cross a short distance of water (about 3 minutes) to get to the other side. Ours didn't require any boat ride. Instead, we walked around to reach the destination.

We surely would have complete our hike in about thirty minutes but since we found a lot of spots to take photos, well, it took us about an hour more or less. The sun was hot but it was fun.

This was the view that greeted us when we started the hike.

A tamarind tree was well-shaped and had a very inviting shade.
A white cow made a nice subject with it.

Most of the path was just flat ground, no elevation. Thank goodness!

We'd occasionally find some flowery trees like this.

Turtle Island

One of the recent spontaneous trips I had this summer was located in Siit, Siaton. The beach is called Turtle Island. It can be accessed by 2-wheel or 4-wheel vehicle about 8 kilometers from the national road going south. Upon reaching a small directional sign, a bumpy ride awaits you until you reach a clearing, which is where we take a small boat to cross the sea to go to Turtle Island. The boat costs Php40 per person and lasts for just about 3-5 minutes.

The beach is not crowded. There are a few other beach goers when we got there, and there was one sari-sari store, which was great. One side of the island has a sandy beach and the other side is very rocky.

This is the boat we took to cross to the island you see clearly from this side.

Bring a hammock! It's a great place to chill and read a book!

Rocky side of the island

We have wonderful golden hour light here, facing this side of the beach.
