Team Building at Camp Lookout, Valencia

I took the chance to go with this year's faculty and staff retreat seeing that I have never attended one before and I also kind of needed to see a new place, what with all the work I had been doing in front of the computer recently.

The ride to camp lookout was a long one. I first thought it's only a little bit further away from Forest Camp but no. On board our jeepney, we passed through broken paths, roads under repair and a lot of trees. It was clearly what you would call a bumpy ride. It was fun though, because we get to laugh and joke about it along the way.

I found the place very relaxing and very reminscent of Baguio. Not that I've ever been to Baguio, no. I just think it reminds you of the place because of the trees and cabins. It could actually pass as a place somewhere in the Netherlands.

It was very peaceful and there were so many flowers and plants. Indeed such a great place to have a retreat and be at peace with nature. There were about five cabins where you could also spend the night if the retreat activities call for it.

SUCCS Christmas Party 2012

The year is almost over! Today's the last day of 2012 so I'm catching up on blogging!

This was the Christmas Party of the Computer Studies Department of Silliman University. We hold it every year at the ATA Hall. It's a small gathering of the faculty and staff of the college. Their families are also invited. We started with a short devotion lighting two of the advent candles. And then we played games, ate dinner, we exchanged presents and take home leftover food :). Five of us teachers also had a short dance number. We entertained them with our own version of Thriller and Gangnam Style.

Teacher's Day October 5, 2012

We got this little card from the school yesterday. It's Teacher's Day all over the world. It's not that personalized but I guess it is nice to be appreciated for what we do. Thank you, Silliman. We got a little note card and a pack of cupcakes.
