Rock Formations at Sabang, Palawan

This is one of the most beautiful beaches I've seen, mainly because of the naturally formed rocks scattered all over the shores. This would probably be the first open-sea beach I've been to. The beaches i'm used to are those from having a lot of neighboring islands. The Philippines is an archipelago so shorelines are accessible almost anywhere. But the sea water in these shores easily go deep within a few meters going to the sea. In Sabang, it takes a few more length to reach deeper waters.

Aside from that, the place was very peaceful and very spacious. It's simply a marvel to be in that place, though only for a short time. We actually went there in the first place because we needed to go up the station where we take off for the zip line experience. That was not in the plan but we didn't get spots to tour Underground River so we had to do something else or just get stuck in the hotel.

I'd have to make a different post for the zip line experience. For now, I'm glad to share with you pictures of Sabang beach, Palawan. I couldn't help but feel proud that this is part of the Philippines. No wonder people have always wanted to see Palawan. It's simply a wonder of nature.

Waves of Sabang Beach

Sabang is an hour away from Puerto Princesa City. A van from the hotel picked us up from our city accommodation and drove us to Sheridan Hotel and Spa. It was my first time to experience a five-star hotel accommodation, but that was only because my companions could afford it. I tagged along the trip so I got to experience it for lesser cost on my part.

But anyway, here is the wonderful beach at the hotel. It's an open sea beach so it had a wonderful spacious area and water remains shallow even when you're far from the shore, unlike what we typically have in our island where water is deep in a couple of meters.

The Island Of Samal

Samal is an island in Davao territory. It is also where you should go if you want to visit the famous Pearl Farm Resort. According to the tour guide, it was really an actual pearl farm back then, specifically those small cottages lined up alone of of the shores.

It was such a quite a relaxing place, though I wouldn't say the waters were as pristine and untouched as that in Palawan. But it was good to see they had some people take out floating trash you see near the beach.

We also rode a small boat to a smaller island which had really nice white sand beach. There was an area where you could see mangroves, which was really nice. I have grown fond of mangroves ever since i'd taken a good look at them during my Siquijor visit.

The island is also a really beautiful place to have a wedding. They have all kinds of facilities you might need, like a chapel, a pavilion, a big enough golf course, a lot of beach area surrounding the island, plus the amazing villas, which by the way, were so very expensive! We had the opportunity to tour one of the villas, and indeed, the interior is worth its price. Every detail is loyal to its theme, everything you see there has been well-thought of. By the way, their pineapple juice is really nice and sweet, and i'm not even a pineapple person.

We had lunch at their restaurant which was situated just near the infinity pool. After lunch, it was time to head back (we took the long way back – land trip). We stopped by for a quick look at a friend's beach property in Samal, so i got to take some snapshots of some other views aside from the resort.
